Corporate rowing

Calling all companies! Join our annual Corporate Rowing Challenge with your colleagues, and learn how to row and race an 8+ on the Ōtakaro Avon River.

We’re back for another year of corporate rowing!

Being the oldest rowing club in New Zealand, we have more than enough rowing experience to put on a great event. With our knowledgeable coaches and passion for the sport we provide a team building experience like no other. Through our Corporate Rowing Challenge you have the opportunity to develop camaraderie, team work, trust, and a strong sense of company pride as your team works together towards becoming the fastest CRC Corporate Rowing Crew of 2024.

    • Learn how to row in an 8 oar boat under the guidance of your very own coach, all building up to racing at the 500m CRC Corporate Regatta at Kerrs Reach on Saturday 4 May 2024.

    • 12 training sessions spread over 6-7 weeks, with morning, evening and weekend sessions available.

    • All you need is a minimum of 8 people per training session (we suggest a team of at least 10 rowers), and a mix of men and women.

    • And don’t forget about the indoor rowing team relay event - it’s your chance to intimidate the other teams and stake your claim as the team to beat come race day!

    • Our coaches are sourced from the ranks of our current and past club rowers, who all have a passion for the sport as well as years of rowing experience under their belts.

    • All training sessions are based at the Canterbury Rowing Club boat shed at Kerrs Reach (look for the blue turf!).

    1. Minimum of 10 people per crew

    2. Must have mixed gender crews

    • Training starts: from the week of 18 March

    • Indoor Race: TBC, likely Wednesday 1 May

    • CRC Corporate Rowing Regatta: Saturday 4 May (if the weather is terrible, it may be postponed to the Sunday)

  • Team entry fee $1500 + gst
